Journaling with Your Computer: The Journal 5 Review and Giveaway

I was invited to join Rafflecopter and because there were no entries in my giveaway yet, I decided to add Rafflecopter and extend the giveaway by one day!

After clicking The Journal 5 button on my desktop and typing in the secret password, the following is what shows up….

If you like keeping a daily journal on your computer, this is the one for you. I like the simplicity and the ease of this platform.  I also like that fact that it is offline and saved on my computer, although you can back it up online as well if you want and if you don’t like green that is easy to change too.

My goal was to write a token from each day. Sometimes I have just one line to write and other days a picture with story or conversation.  If  a day is missed, I freed myself from going back and filling it in so that it does not become a chore but a welcomed way of closing out my day.  Keep in mind, that if you have trouble coming up with something you can add a simple daily journal template that is quick and easy to help you along.

When you purchase The Journal 5, it comes with easy to follow and clear directions. Plus it allows you to add tabs, lists, and things that interest you. For example, I have a Happiness Project Tab where I list some things that I wanted to remember from the book by that name. The Happiness Project has a place where you can keep these lists online, but I prefer mine to be private and so I am keeping them in my journal.

My favorite thing about The Journal 5 is the Memory grabber add on.  I highly recommend this as it allows you to keep a running timeline of your life along with memory questions to remind you of key events you won’t want to forget.  The timeline (pictured above) has room to add your age to each year as well as monumental events. The space expands if you have a year that warrants more writing. I plan to list births, weddings, graduations, big moves, significant current events, and major life happenings. The memory questions include family, childhood, work, favorites, talents, and many more.

I highly recommend the Journal 5 for people looking to keep a simple desktop journal. You can purchase a download now or on CD in various bundles and packages. Head over to The Journal’s website to see more page views and insights to the program.
You can also win The Journal 5 with the Memorygrabber (a $59.95 value)

Pick and Draw Game Review and Giveaway

July 2011 005July 2011 008
When the Pick and Draw game arrived, it took my son no time to read the rules, set it up, and begin drawing pages of faces.  With straight forward instructions put forth step by step, he was off.  We found that this card game can be used with any age and it can be done alone or together plus parents and teachers can use it as a learning tool.
July 2011 001July 2011 002

When I contacted Rich Davis to see about writing a review, he didn’t just send me one game; he sent me four! He asked me to use them in ministry here in Bolivia. I thought that was amazing! He told me that people are using the Pick and Draw games in India, Africa, Poland, and many other countries. Mr. Davis stated, “…even if they (missionaries or teams) can’t speak the language. Art, a gift from God, is a language all people can understand immediately.”  It is his greatest desire and a dream he believes God placed in his heart to see people come to know Jesus through art.  Pick and Draw is the beginning of God’s answer to that dream.

July 2011 004

What will we do with the extra games we received? One pack of Pick and Draw was already played during the English Village ministry which helps future missionaries and leaders from South America develop language learning skills. Another of the games will make it’s home in a small village where we have a single missionary who works with a church there. The children in that town are used to life without electricity and other conveniences, I really think this will become a highlight for them. The others will be used by our children’s ministry team, the school, and possibly the medical team plus we will enjoy our personal copy and make use of it as ministry comes along too. I am excited to see how this game might help us in sharing the Gospel.

July 2011 004July 2011 006

I highly recommend Pick and Draw for anyone with children. You can use it for an afternoon activity, waiting in a restaurant or office, a character for a short story, or many other things. If you want to give it a try, go HERE.

Please consider making a purchase (using the link or the button to the right) of Pick and Draw, at just $10.00 a game it would make a great gift for any occasion or just an addition to your lessons. If you do decide to get a copy or already own one, let me know what you think.

Blueberry Silver Jewelry Review and Giveaway

africa_stamp_001_copyAngela of Blueberry Silver is in the process of adopting!  I met her via the Internet because she is using the same adoption agency, America World Adoption, that brought Asher to us. 100% of the profits from her shop Blueberry Silver go towards the adoption! Please consider making a purchase to help one orphan find a home!
I asked Angela if I could review the Africa piece and trust me it is as precious in person as pictured. (And by that I mean her picture, the one I pulled from her website, not my photos. My camera did not capture the beauty of it!) I like the silver disk and the little pearl compliment, so cute!  I have worn it most of the week and have had people rave about it! I really love it too!! Each time I glance at it in the mirror while washing my hands or drying my hair, I am reminded to pray for Angela, Katie, Janet, Donna and my other friends who are in the process of adopting.

The Africa necklace would be a perfect choice for someone adopting from there, someone with a missionary who lives there, or a prayer warrior and even as a reminder to pray. However, Keep in mind when you visit Blueberry Silver, Angela and her mom offer various creative choices and many can be customized! They are very willing to work with you and are a delight! Here is a small sample…

The Vintage Pearl Review and Giveaway

September 2010 018 September 2010 004
I think it might be the heat that is not allowing my camera to focus close up, so you will have to take my word that the necklace that The Vintage Pearl sent me for review is amazing! I really like it and others do too as I was flooded with compliments my first evening out. It would make a nice gift for yourself or someone on your Christmas list! (Just thinking ahead.)

When shopping at The Vintage Pearl, you can pick ready to ship items or personalize your choices. I chose the necklace with charms just in case we want to add to our family in the future. In that case, it would be easy to order another charm or two as the family expanded.

There are lots of options for people who are not interested in mother necklaces too. Like the ones pictured below.

T-Tapp In the Sun and White Brite Review

White Brite comes in a handy 2 fl. oz. spray and lasts for a long time.  You spray your teeth once to three times daily and it helps eliminate surface discoloration.  As I have been using the spray, it seems to be doing just what it suggests. I have noticed a whiter smile emanating from my usual coffee-stained teeth.  I like the fact that one does not have to go through an expensive treatment nor use harsh chemicals with this product.  It is also said to freshen breath and kill germs.

I am not the best person to review a sun screen product as it has been winter here and I have not needed too much protection recently.  However, I can tell you that In The Skin Sun goes on like a lotion and has a soft, fragrant at-the-beach type smell that is not overpowering as some lotions tend to be. It dries quickly and does not feel greasy, which I particularly like. The 4 fl. oz. bottle boasts that one application lasts all day, is waterproof, offers UVA/UVB protection, moisturizes, is PABA free, and more.

Since I have been a fan of Teresa Tapp and using different workout methods and products, I can say that I appreciate her natural approach to products.  I really think she works hard to bring us top products that are healthy and as natural as possible.  I do not hesitate to suggest her workouts because they worked so well for me and I feel the same way about her products.  (Certainly do your research and talk to your doctor before starting any new workout/health product as is always suggested.)

Be sure to enter the TAPPCORE WORKOUT DVD GIVEAWAY that ends 8/24.
Disclaimer: I would like to thank T-Tapp for providing both products above complementary . The opinions stated are my own and I did not receive any monetary compensation.
If you are stopping by from the Surf, leave a comment and let me know. I will return the visit and the follow.
Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by…

Lime Ricki Swimwear Review and Giveaway: Get Ready for Summer with the Perfect Suit!

Going to try on swimsuits is a chore.  Many women, myself included have spent hours in search of the perfect suit trying on the entire store and still coming up short.  Lime Ricki Swimwear is the solution!  A unique, modest, fun line of suits that will be hard to narrow down, Lime Ricki Swimwear is your one stop shop for summer time fun!

Lime Ricki Swimwear allowed me to choose one suit to review.  I narrowed down my favorites, reminded myself what I wanted (a modest suit that fully covers my front side) and what looks best on my body type, asked my mom’s opinion and a few friends, and then selected the suit pictured.
I can not say enough about how IMPRESSED I was when the suit arrived and fit PERFECTLY!!!!  I do recommend taking your measurements and following the size chart suggestions which was all I did to insure this perfect fit.  I was also amazed at the courteous and helpful staff while communicating via email.  It is enjoyable to shop with people who care about the customers as well as sell an  amazing product.

Custom Tee Couture Review and GIVEAWAY

Trust me when I tell you that the website is COOL!  Even if you do not win, you will want to head over to Custom Tee Couture and play around.  Basically, you design your own T-shirt and then place an order.  Soon your custom shirt arrives and you wear your one-of-a-kind design for the world to see.
Here is a little glimpse into how it works, but please note the pictures do not do the website justice you really need to head over and see it yourself.

You start with a plain white shirt and then decide from there what exact shirt you would like from long sleeve, short sleeve or tank tops there are lots of choices plus which color as well.  Just click change garnet or change color on the top left side of the page.
If you would like text, there are lots of choices of fonts to play around with before you settle on the one you want.
You can also add clip art like the cake in the shirt above.
BUT If you like shirts that shine, there are also different types of beads you can use when adding text and/or art.
If you are not creative at all, you would still enjoy the easy-to-use design process or you can customize showroom designs or shop the Custom Tee Couture’s exclusive garments

The tee that I designed above was in honor of my birthday coming up this Sunday.  I love the colors picked (note: any clipart color can be changed) plus it was fun to see my own design come in the mail.  There is one font for the numbers and a different font for the words which turned out cute, I think.  The shirt is an XL Junior crossover Teardrop cap sleeve in white (I usually wear a M in adult sizes.)

So now, I know you are itching to design your own.  Here is how you can win one…
